Suntrek Solar Pool Kits
So How Big Should My Collector Array Be?
The general rule of thumb is about half the surface area of your pool. In other words, if your pool has a surface area of 200 sq. ft. (say 10' x 20'), then your Solar Collector array should be about 100 sq. ft. or about two of our pre assembled, 50 sq. ft.(2'x25') solar collectors.
Of course, you might want a little more or less, depending on your own situation. A deeper pool in a cooler climate may need more, while a shallow pool in a hot climate may need less. Don't forget to order a pair of hose connectors and four solar clamps to attach one collector to the next plus one extra set for the final hookup. You'll also need an installation kit which contains a variety of valves, bushings, a repair kit, an instruction manual, and a means of attaching the collectors (either an adhesive, or a strapping system) to your roof or some other substrate.
Now the collector array is finished. To complete the installation, the collector array must be connected to the pool's existing filtration system using locally available plumbing supplies like 2" Schedule 40 PVC pipes, Teflon tape, fittings, PVC glue, etc.
